Rick joined USESI in February 2021 through the Accelerated Leadership Preparation System (ALPS), following a career as a college lacrosse coach and retail store manager. Looking for a stable, growth-oriented career, he transitioned into the electrical distribution industry and spent 16 months training at Electrical Wholesalers in Danbury, CT before stepping into his first branch manager role. In December 2024, he was offered the opportunity to take on a new challenge—leading the HZ Electric Supply Poughkeepsie branch.
For Rick, leadership is all about integrity and accountability. “Doing what you say you’re going to do has always been the backbone of my leadership approach,” he says. “I believe trust is built through action, and a strong team culture comes from mutual support.” He values open communication and keeps his office door open, encouraging his team to collaborate, share ideas, and work together toward success.
Outside of work, Rick enjoys spending time with his dog, Margaret, and playing golf whenever the weather allows. When it comes to measuring success, his focus is on both performance and fulfillment. “We want to build an environment where we look forward to coming to work every day while helping our customers meet and exceed their goals.”
